Fancy a bit more spice? Our long distance course has it all.
You start off at Knoll Beach in Studland.
Run 1 is a 1.2km adventure through the sand dunes to the sea, followed by a 500m swim along the shoreline, approximately 100m offshore to bring you in near the visitor centre. This swim crosses the Studland Marine Conservation Zone, which boasts not only incredible sea grass, but also, if you’re lucky, you may spot seahorses!
It’ll be low tide, so you’ll then run along the shoreline and back into the water for the long swim of 800m to South Beach.
It’s time to get those legs working. Its off up to visit Old Harry rocks. Get your climbing legs on for the gentle but long ascent up to the top of Ballard Down. Take a moment to savour the views of Bournemouth Bay, the Isle of Wight and in the other direction, Swanage Bay before dropping down to Swanage beach. There’s a long swim across the bay, run through Swanage town to Peveril Point. Swim across Peveril Bay to Durlston Head.
A technical run past Tilly Whim cave, around the lighthouse and back up hill before descending back into Swanage town.
A swim back to Banjo pier, before the long run back over Ballard Down the back way and into Studland. Run through Studland village and back to Middle Beach to swim back to Knoll Beach and the finish line for a high 5 as you cross.
